Football Clubs and Ama Papa

Your Club & Ama Papa

- Our Project, Your Club, Shared Goals -

Ama Papa are very keen to team up with Non-League, lower league and grass-roots football clubs and we are actively reaching out to a number of such clubs right now.

We need venues such as yours and the facilities you offer. We also need locations all across the country to allow us to reach more and more people who might need our support.

And we need events and occasions that can bring people together. Clubs like yours offer these things. More than that, unlike expensive and sold out Premier League clubs, these lower league, grass roots and Non-League clubs like yours are accessible and affordable. And welcoming.

The Benefits To Your Club

If your club were to team up with Ama Papa there'd be a number of benefits.

  1. A guaranteed increase in revenue of at least £1,000 per year.
  2. We would utilise your facilities to hold at least one of our meetings at your club on a non match day.
  3. We would hold at least one event at your club on match-day and boost your attendance.
  4. All of the press coverage, social media coverage and attention we can generate.

The Benefits to Ama Papa

The benefits to our Ama Papa project are significant. The relationship will generate vital funds that enable us to continue and to grow.

It also allows us a venue to host some of our meetings where we can bring Single Dad's together and generate the peer support, friendships and camaraderie they may well be in need of. On a match day it gives us an event that we can encourage Single Dad's to come along to and where possible, to bring their kids. These matches will allow Dad's a chance to meet, mingle and chat to one another and form new friendships. It also allows their kids to the chance to make new friends.

Ultimately, it gives us a platform and a catchment area to reach the Single Dad's, the men and the families that need support.

How It All Works -

The Goal-Buster

To be crystal clear from the get-go, we do not ask for any financial contribution from your club. But the success of the partnership is based on whomever we team up with being willing and able to play our Goal-Buster. Here's how that works:

You would need to find 20 of your fans to play Goal-Buster. They would each pay £2.50 per week to play and they'd sign up for a full season. That generates £50 per week. Over a 40 week season that generates £2,000. Half of that goes to support Ama Papa and the other half goes into the prize-pot.

We will do all of the work on The Goal-Buster. Each of the 20 fans draws one Premier League team at random. Each fan gets 1 point for every goal scored in their team's Premier League games. Therefore there is no advantage or disadvantage of getting a good team are a poor one.

For example, your team is Everton and my team is Newcastle. If Everton beat Newcastle 5-0 you & I both get 5 points because there was 5 goals in our teams game. If the game had finished 1-1 we'd both get 2 points because there were 2 goals in our teams game.

The first team to finish the weekend / round of games / game week on exactly 21 points wins the prize pot. If you go over 21 points, you go bust and start the following week at zero points. Therefore, again, there's no advantage or disadvantage of having a high-scoring team or a low-scoring team.

Aston Villa 7-2 Liverpool would bag the fans who had those teams 9 points each. If they were already on, say, 13 points going into the game, the 9 points would carry them to 22 points and see them bust. Likewise, a team like Burnley with results typical of 1-0, 2-1, 0-1 could just as easily end up landing on exactly 21 points and winning the pot.

I spent 2 years working at The National Lottery Fund and I ran this within the office. It's great fun, it's engaging and it generates some interest in following the football. The pot usually takes anything from 6 to 12 weeks to be won. So after 10 weeks, for example, there'd be £250 up for grabs.

The benefit to your club is that, when the pot is won, the lucky supporter doesn't get the cash; they get the cash value / credit to spend with your club. That could be in additional match day tickets, in a bar tab or to be used in the club shop. So your club retains the prize pot as increased revenue.

All Ama Papa would need is for you to find just 20 of your loyal, die-hard supporters who were willing to play. I am a football fan; I love my club; I'd be happy to put £2.50 a week in to help keep it afloat. If these fans are willing to give us their social media details then we will post updates, previews, reviews etc and generate as much publicity as possible, using the appropriate #Hashtag and including your club in all of the tweets for example.

So the game, live on Sky or BT might be Liverpool vs Manchester United but your club will be included in a load of Tweets #LIVMNU with tags to the supporters involved in that game.

if you were able to find 40 of your loyal supporters to play, we can run two Goal-Busters and generate £2,000 per season for you. And so on.

Should you have any corporate partners or sponsors who offer a product or service that might benefit Single Parents or their families, then perhaps you could introduce us to them. If we can encourage them to play, using the staff in their business, we can generate even more funds for your club. And we can promote their products and services to the Single Dad's and the families that we will support.

In Laymen's Terms

In it's simplest form here's what we would like to do with your club, ideally starting in August 2021 when the new season commences. By which time Ama Papa will be registered as a Charity or not-for-profit organisation and you have the peace of mind that brings. We'd love to come and meet you beforehand and have a chat face to face too.

However, if you wanted to begin this earlier, in the remainder of this season, we would be willing to do so.

Play The Goal Buster

Find 20 of your loyal fans and supporters to play The Goal Buster, which Ama Papa run for you / them.

This guarantees you £1,000 a season in increased revenue as well as some useful publicity and social media coverage.

Men United...

We will contact local press and use social media to encourage as many local Single Dad's to come down to the stadium on a midweek non match day to have a drink, have a chat, meet, mingle, make new friends, find some encouragement, camaraderie, support and advice. We do this while drumming up a decent sized bar-bill for your club and by watching a midweek game on Sky or BT on the TV's in your club bar.

We would look to form a little group of Single Dad's in your catchment area, find a few captains within that group, and look for them to help us make this meeting a monthly, fortnightly or even weekly event.

Game On....

We will again contact the local press and utilise social media to generate as much awareness as possible of Ama Papa holding a match-day event at your club. We encourage as many men, Single Dad's, Single Mam's and families to come and attend the game. If you wanted to do a promotion on the day to get even more people through the turnstiles, great. We'd look to get people in early and using the bars, the restaurants, kiosks and facilities to meet, chat and unite before enjoying the game. It's a great chance for the adults and the kids to make new friends. Ideally, those friendships are based on meeting at your home matches and the crowd increase is sustained.

If there's any Single Dad's amongst the playing staff who would be willing to get involved, even better. It'll help with press and promoting the event and engaging with those that attend.

Win Win Win

You can't lose. You're guaranteed to make at least £1,000 a year in increased revenue. Double that if you can find 40 supporters and play two Goal-Busters and so on. Once you've found 20 supporters to play, then there's no more work for you to do; we do everything else.

You're guaranteed to have a minimum of one meeting held at the venue on non match day which will generate profits on a night that it would likely otherwise be unused. And there'd be at least one match day event which can't decrease your crowds; it can either achieve nothing or bring in a few extra punters through the turnstiles. If even a few of them return, it's all extra gate money and new supporters.

The Single Dad's, as well as potentially the Single Mam's and the kids they share all get the chance to find some much needed peer support.

And Ama Papa are able to use the relationship with your club to reach more people that, otherwise, we could not reach. It really is risk-free win-win-win.
